Mosque at ground zero
That's a damn good idea whether or not you care about freedom of religion. See, if Al Qaeda sees, and Americans see that their terrorist bullshit can't divide America, then score a point for us. If Muslims see that we see them as Americans and not possible terror suspects, score one for us Americans. I'll point out Muslims are American too for those that just walked in tardy for this lesson. Oh and if Americans can acclimate to Muslims and visa versa, score another for Americans. Oh, and let's see those punk ass Al Qaeda try that again with Muslims watching our back and us theirs as well. That's confusing for them, a lesson not well learned but understood, and definitely discouraging to them but not us, our soldiers, and encouraging for all allies of all parts of the world, and discouraging to all our enemies as well. Oh and Israel won't be put off by it either. They've got Muslims, Arabs, Christians and Buddhists there too I'd imagine, or Hindi etc. So what does this do for us and show about American character and strength? That were not a bunch of wimps. WE can make friends with who we want, when we want and we don't have to justify it though explaining it to the newbies is alright and definitely teach your kids how to be guardians of the world. Eternal vigilance applies to gardening and animal husbandry as much as warfare, and friendship, and romance/marriage.
